Description of Work:
 
The Upgrade to Northwest Field Infrastructure Phase 2 project at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam is a design-build project that provides communication support by excavating, trenching and installing new fiber optic lines from the main base at Andersen Air Force Base to the Northwest Field Complex, a distance of 12.4 miles (20 km). The project also includes the construction of a 22 x 45 ft reinforced concrete Information Transfer Node (ITN) building to which fiber optic lines are intalled from the Northwest Field. The facility is able to withstand 170 mile per hour typhoon winds and Seismis Zone 4 earthquakes.
 
The project also includes installing a manhole duct system for communication lines, performing necessary repairs to and replacement of disturbed and displaced pavements and existing utilities, associated site improvements and hazardous material abatement.
